Meet our Lead Consultant!

Ann Quintana, RN, BSN, RAC-CTA
You may have known her as Ann Crum. It's all the same knowledge with a new name.
Ann attended Youngstown State University, where she played collegiate volleyball and majored in Nursing. She graduated in 1995 with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree. After 5 years of hospital work in cardiac care, Ann moved into the long term care sector. She began as a shift supervisor, and then moved into management through learning the MDS process and reimbursement facets of the industry. She has become well-known amongst peers as a trusted resource for education and knowledge of the RAI process, Quality Measures and the PDPM process. She spent 3 years as a corporate quality nurse overseeing 10 facilities before moving into a DON role at a 211-bed skilled nursing and assisted living facility. During her 6 years as the DON, she achieved excellent surveys and helped the facility become very profitable through her knowledge of the workings of the MDS process. The facility achieved a very good reputation for quality of care under her leadership. She moved on to become a Corporate Director of Quality Management for another long term care company. In this role she provided oversight of the DONs and Administrators of the 6 facilities and assisted all of them to achieve a 5-star quality rating with CMS. She ensured regulatory compliance within the facilities through chart reviews and mock surveys. She developed policies, written based on CMS regulations, including development of a full emergency preparedness plan. As a Certified Infection Preventionist, she also developed the COVID care policies for the company. In addition to these tasks, she was the company risk manager, completing lawsuit reviews and record requests. She also started a hospice for the company and took it through the initial licensure. She continued as the QAPI coordinator for the hospice and took over the administrator role, which she held for 7 years. She even filled in as an RN case manager as needed and provided clinical oversight of the hospice team.
